Night-time in New York City, the time of day during which many of the city’s freaks and other strange phenomena would come out from their hiding places, and for Chip he was no exception. Tonight he found himself in a place he frequented: an old automotive junkyard which served as a particularly handy place to scrounge for parts when his motorcycle needed repairs. However, tonight he would uncover something he wouldn’t have ever expected, another fellow freak of the night.

It’s been sometime since the motorcycle incident that his rookery brother Lexington made to which he himself messed the entire vehicle up. The smaller gargoyle was definitely not happy with this development, so in an effort to make it up to him, he was scouring an automotive junkyard they went to last time to gather up the parts for the bike. Tonight he was alone, looking into piled up cars and motorcycles for the appropriate parts, being pretty cautious to not be seen by humans after what happened the last few times.

“Ugh…doing this alone is harder than it looks…” He muttered to himself as he kept looking.

“A castle? Wait, you don’t mean-” Chip paused for a moment while speaking as the realisation hit him. He’d heard of some eccentric billionaire guy bringing a castle from overseas for whatever reason. “Huh, I think I heard of that before actually. So that’s how you guys got all the way to the Big Apple.”

He nodded. “Since we can only wake up when the castle is above the clouds due to the curse put on us to sleep forever, he found out how to wake us up and here we are. That guy is not too cool, by the way. Right now he is in jail for some illegal thing he wanted us to do. When would he come out? I have no idea. Gotta talk to our human friend about that sometime…”

“Yowch. Guess he’s behind bars for good reason.“ Chip lowered his head and looked down at the floor for a moment. “Still I’m at least thankful enough that he managed to bring you guys way here. Otherwise I never would’ve met you, Brook.“ The wolf turned his head toward the gargoyle and showed him a soft, welcoming smile.

The gargoyle looked up a bit then back at Chip to smile. “You know what? You’re right about that, Chip. This century has a lot of great things about it and you are one of them. I’m glad I got to meet you.”

The soft smile upon Chip’s face quickly burst into a bright, beaming grin. Without any hesitation he put his large arm around the gargoyle’s back and pulled him in close till they were shoulder to shoulder. “You don’t know how happy makes me, Brook.” The wolf was overflowing with sheer joy. “These past few months have been too damn lonely, and you’re the best thing that’s happened to me since who knows when.”

Brooklyn grinned and wrapped an arm around the others side since the other was doing the same. He could definitely tell that the other was very much so happy in this moment out of all the loneliness he has been feeling and since the gargoyle had pretty much been hated be everyone except for his clan and human friend so far in this century, it was great to see that there was another out there that liked him. Hell. With Chip is was most likely love at this point. “After being not well received by like the people you saw that we saved not too long ago, it’s great to see that there are people like you out there that accept me just like how I accept you.”
