It’s been sometime since the motorcycle incident that his rookery brother Lexington made to which he himself messed the entire vehicle up. The smaller gargoyle was definitely not happy with this development, so in an effort to make it up to him, he was scouring an automotive junkyard they went to last time to gather up the parts for the bike. Tonight he was alone, looking into piled up cars and motorcycles for the appropriate parts, being pretty cautious to not be seen by humans after what happened the last few times.
“Ugh…doing this alone is harder than it looks…” He muttered to himself as he kept looking.
The stew filled Chip’s belly with a warmth and sense of relief he had long since missed. He was already several spoonfuls into his second helping when he heard Brooklyn speak up. The wolf gulped down his current mouthful and gave a sheepish laugh. “Aheh… Pardon my manners.” He said, glancing over towards Broadway, setting the bowl down on the nearby counter. “It’s just that I haven’t had a home-cooked meal this nice in a long time. For the past few months I’ve been livin’ off of canned food and whatever else I could get my hands on.”
Broadway waved his hand at the burp and laugh. Its not like he doesn’t do the same thing himself when he burps in front of people after eating some much. “Your fine, Chip. Really. I’m glad you like my food and you can have as much as you want. I can imagine it being pretty hard to live on the street more or less here from the homeless people I’ve seen.” He said as the husky gargoyle took the bowls on a serving cart and was on his way to leave the room, but before he did that, he turn his head to the wolf.
“You can come by the kitchen anytime I’m making something. I’d love to share some of my cooking with you and everyone else.” Broadway told Chip as he left the kitchen.
Broadway was right. Even though Chip wasn’t exactly homeless, it had been tough for him to get by ever since his mutation. He had been fortunate to find that small abandoned warehouse by the waterfront, and spent time making it into something halfway liveable. “Thanks a bunch, big guy. You really are too kind.” Chip said with a nod and a small, genuine smile. He went back to eating his bowl of stew, though this time a lot more slowly.
“That’s Broadway for you. Pretty much the gentlest of our clan.” Brooklyn added to what Chip said and ate the rest of his stew, giving a burp and placing the bowl down on the counter. “Really hits the spot if you ask me. Heheh.”
This gargoyle was indeed full so he sat on the nearest chair in the kitchen and watched the other eat. “So out of everything, what is your favorite part of this castle?”
